Clinical Significance
CBFB-MYH11 fusion gene is detected in acute myelomonocytic leukemia with Inv(16)(p13.q22) or t(16;16) (p13;q22) chromosomal translocations. This subtype of AML is usually associated with abnormal eosinophils in the bone marrow.
